Off to Oz: A Musical Retelling of the Story of Dorothy, Glinda, and the Wicked Witch written by Teen Writers Workshop Fall 2025

Dress Rehearsal: Friday, March 20 at Connect Center in Washington, IL (tentatively 4-7 pm)
Performance: Saturday, March 21, 6 p.m. at Connect Center in Washington IL  (actors needed 4:30-8 pm)

Ages: 10+ (younger ages that are interested in a speaking role may audition for one, but are not guaranteed a speaking role; otherwise, please see Junior Ensemble information below) All students who audition are cast in our production in a speaking and/or ensemble role. 

Registration: $150 regular registration paid by January 8 (early registration price closes Dec 11)

Other info you need to know (the small print!):
Tickets to the final performance are free, with donations accepted. Students are responsible for assembling their own costumes, but will have access to our modest costuming budget for bought pieces. Students are asked to wear under-costume outfits of tank top and biker shorts, or leotard and tights, with dance jazz shoes or flats. We welcome parent volunteers at every stage of our production. Parents of younger students are asked to stay on-site during class-time; teens may be dropped off if they have a release form on file. 

Junior Oz Ensemble
Ages 5+
Thursdays 10:45-11:30 a.m.

No Dec audition necessary. You may register and join ensemble up to Jan 8.

Be part of Off to Oz as a munchkin, Oz citizen, and/or flying monkey! We will learn songs and movement, and how to react and act on stage. Students will have their own age-appropriate 15-minute rehearsal, then join the large cast for 30 minutes to rehearse it with them. 

Students will be asked to join for some full rehearsals in March, including dress rehearsal and final performance on March 20 and 21.

Junior Drama Club and Theater Games
Thursdays 10:15-10:45 a.m.
Ages 4-9
Jan 22-Feb 12 (4-week session)

A simple and child-directed introduction to storytelling and theater. We'll play games and sing songs, and tell our own stage stories! Parents are welcome to join in on the fun. All abilities and neurotypes welcome!  
$32/session or $8/class prepaid (pay for only those class dates you can attend) 

*Minimum class size of 4 students to hold class
