Auditions for Off to Oz: A Musical Retelling of the Story of Dorothy, Glinda, and the Wicked Witch

Script and audition form will be emailed to you after your register for our Spring 2026 season. We will audition by reading through the script and switching parts. Those interested in a lead role that has a solo or duet must also submit a video audition. Parts will be announced by Dec 29.

Off to Oz: A Musical Retelling of the Story of Dorothy, Glinda, and the Wicked Witch written by Teen Writers Workshop Fall 2025

Rehearsals: 
Thursdays 11-Noon (11-12:45 Feb 26-March 19) 
New Castle Bible Church location, 
January 8-March 19, 2026

Dress Rehearsal: Friday, March 20 at Connect Center in Washington, IL
Performance: Saturday, March 21, 6 p.m. at Connect Center in Washington IL 

Ages: 10+ (younger ages that are interested in a speaking role may audition for one, but are not guaranteed a speaking role; otherwise, please see Junior Ensemble information below) All students who audition are cast in our production in a speaking and/or ensemble role. 

Registration: $120 early registration paid by Dec 11 ($150 regular registration paid by January 8) 

Other info you need to know (the small print!):
Tickets to the final performance are free, with donations accepted. Students are responsible for assembling their own costumes, but will have access to our modest costuming budget for bought pieces. Students are asked to wear under-costume outfits of tank top and biker shorts, or leotard and tights, with dance jazz shoes or flats. We welcome parent volunteers at every stage of our production. Parents of younger students are asked to stay on-site during class-time; teens may be dropped off if they have a release form on file. 

Junior Oz Ensemble
Ages 5-9 
Thursdays 10:45-11:30 a.m. 
Jan 8-March 19

Be part of Off to Oz as a munchkin, Oz citizen, and/or flying monkey! We will learn songs and movement, and how to react and act on stage. Students will have their own age-appropriate 15-minute rehearsal, then join the large cast for 25 minutes to rehearse it with them. 

Students will be asked to join for some full rehearsals in March, including dress rehearsal and final performance on March 20 and 21. 

Registration price: $120, paid by first rehearsal Jan 8, 2026
